Zurn RK7000-50BN Diverter/Volume Control Spindle Repl Kit

A: Here are the instructions on how to remove and replace this Zurn RK7000-50BN Diverter/Volume Control Spindle Repl Kit (Part #143838): 1. Take off the handle and cover trim to allow access to the valve. 2. Turn off the hot and cold water supplies by taking out the service stop plugs and turn the stop stems clockwise with a 3/16" allen wrench. 3. Loosen and remove the diverter retainer by turning a 5/16" allen wrench counterclockwise. 4. Remove brass diverter key using a small screwdriver. 5. Enter a Screw Extractor into the inside of the spindle and gently tap into place using a rubber mallet. 6. Remove diverter spindle by rotating counterclockwise & pulling outwardly at the same time. 7. Lubricate the o-rings on the replacement spindle. 8. Insert the spindle into the valve ensuring the small recessed notch is located at the 12 O' Clock position. 9. Gently seat the replacement spindle into the valve by pushing in and rotating back and forth at the same time. 10. Reinstall the diverter key & tighten the diverter retainer. 11. Re-open integral stops to turn the hot and cold water back on. 12. Finally, reinstall the retainer screws, cover trim, & handle assembly. If you have any other questions our experts are here to help!
